McDonald’s wins a taste test?

According to this article on NewsMax, Consumer Reports indicates that a survey they conducted indicated that more “trained testers” prefered the taste of McDonald’s coffee over Starbucks.

Now I’m no trained tester, but I have never had a coffee from a fast food resteraunt, gas station, or any other place that offered coffee as a convenience that tasted better than Starbucks, Caribu, or Dunn Brothers.

The first thing that I have to wonder about are these “trained testers”. Were they trained to like the taste that the average person expects from coffee, or the taste that someone trained them to taste?

No one had to train me to like one coffee or the other, I just seem to know what I like and don’t like. As a matter of fact, I didn’t really like coffee at all until I had a cup from a small local coffee shop. Once I discovered what it was really supposed to taste like, I have been drinking it ever since.
