McDonald’s wins a taste test?

According to this article on NewsMax, Consumer Reports indicates that a survey they conducted indicated that more “trained testers” prefered the taste of McDonald’s coffee over Starbucks.

Now I’m no trained tester, but I have never had a coffee from a fast food resteraunt, gas station, or any other place that offered coffee as a convenience that tasted better than Starbucks, Caribu, or Dunn Brothers.

The first thing that I have to wonder about are these “trained testers”. Were they trained to like the taste that the average person expects from coffee, or the taste that someone trained them to taste?

No one had to train me to like one coffee or the other, I just seem to know what I like and don’t like. As a matter of fact, I didn’t really like coffee at all until I had a cup from a small local coffee shop. Once I discovered what it was really supposed to taste like, I have been drinking it ever since.

Stay tuned, I’m sure it will work again tomorrow!!

Get a bain, morans!

This is awesome. It was just earlier this week that I read a story about the use of microwaves to sterilize sponges, and now it seems that people, in a rush to try this wonderful revelation, are burning up sponges and microwaves.

Tailgating

It seems that here in Minnesota that tailgating is not something that happens once in a while, it’s the normal way to drive. It seems that everyone has the feeling that they are more important and have to get to their destination faster than you are going. Or maybe that isn’t it at all.

It seems to me that when in a car, people seem to think they become anonymous, almost like people feel when they are online. You can’t really see the face of the other driver, nor interact with them on any other level than the way that you are using the space on the road. People see cars, not the people who are driving them. So, they try to influence your driving by giving or taking away space. Imagine if that is how we acted when we were just out walking around.
