The sheetrock is on!!!
The entire house now has sheetrock on the walls! The funny thing is that I thought that would make it seem smaller, but it seems bigger. I don’t know why, maybe after the paint is on it will seem the same again.
So, all there is left is cabinets, counter tops, paint, flooring, trim, furnace, air conditioning, hot water heater, faucets and other water fixtures, electrical outlets and switches, framing the basement walls, finishing the stairs from the garage to the basement, concrete in the garage, and siding on the front, and terminating my cables, and we’ll be ready to move in!
Just that simple!
Well, the video and data cable installation is complete. Thanks to Jon, Jayson, and Dave, we were done in one day!
Installed was about 4500′ of network cable, and just over 1000′ of video cable. At most outlets, of which there are 24, there are 2 CAT5E, 1 CAT6, and 1 RG6 quad shield coax. I also installed a 1″ conduit from the unfinished portion of the basement to the attic, to accomodate any future cable installations on the second floor. I don’t really anticipate any more installs, except for maybe antennas on the roof for sattelite radio or something like that.
I am going back to the house for pictures this afternoon.
I am still amazed at the speed that the house is coming along! It seems like it should be only a matter of days before we move in.
Looking around it seems that most of the electrical rough in is complete, and the plumming is getting installed as well. I also noticed that they have much of the duct work installed for the HVAC. I only wish that the AC would be working for this weekend when I install the network cabling! At least there is a nice breeze through the freshly installed windows!
Happy (late) Fourth of July!
You may have noticed that we haven’t added any pictures of the house in the last couple of days. On Tuesday night, we left for the big Fourth of July parade in Eveleth, MN. We are back now, and hopefully will get over to the house to have a look today. I will add the pictures this afternoon.
